The transaction expands Beacon’s presence in the UK market and adds Eversholt Rail’s passenger and freight leasing activities to the group.

Beacon Rail has completed the acquisition of Eversholt UK Rails Group, bringing the UK-based rolling stock leasing company into its European portfolio, according to Beacon Rail.

Eversholt UK Rails Group is one of the UK’s established rolling stock leasing companies, with assets leased to passenger and freight operators. Following the acquisition, the business will operate as part of Beacon Rail, which manages rolling stock portfolios across multiple European markets.

Beacon Rail said the combination increases the group’s scale and brings together leasing, asset management, and technical expertise across the UK and continental Europe. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

Adam Cunliffe, CEO of Beacon Rail, said the acquisition brings Eversholt Rail into the Beacon group to support customers and long-term rail transport activity across Europe. He added that the transaction follows work by both organisations to complete the integration.

Beacon Rail is a rolling stock leasing company active in passenger and freight markets, while Eversholt Rail has historically focused on the UK market with a fleet covering multiple traction types and vehicle classes.
