On the north-west corner of the southern Hungarian town of Szeged, in Kiskundorozsma, Petrolsped announced the construction of a new intermodal terminal, which should be operational in September 2023.

The strategic position of the town of Szeged in the south of Hungary, near the border with Serbia and Romania, has started to show more vividly recently. After METRANS announced the construction of a new 100,000 sqm container terminal in this location in March 2023 (operational in 2025), another intermodal terminal was announced in this location.

PSP Terminal Kft., a member of the Petrolsped Group, is rebuilding a former RoLa transfer station in Kiskundorozsma on the outskirts of Szeged, into an intermodal terminal. With a size of 60,000 sqm, it will handle both semitrailers and containers. The terminal will spread on a surface of over 4.8 hectares, and it will be able to accommodate trains with 38 semitrailers or containers, with a length of 650 meters. The operator promises to reload both craneable and non-craneable semitrailers. The terminal should be built to be served by electric locomotives without the need for diesel shunting locomotives.

From the planned connections, Bettembourg in Luxembourg and Poznan in Poland are mentioned as destinations with a planned direct connection to the PSP Terminal for now.
