DB reaches 30 per cent women in management and sets new target: 40 per cent women in management positions.

DB has already achieved its previous target of 30 per cent female management by the end of 2024. With this step and the new plan, the Group is continuing on its path to becoming an increasingly female and diverse company with equal participation. Together with the initiative FKi Diversity for Success (FKi), DB unveiled the plan yesterday:

"Diversity makes Deutsche Bahn stronger, also for the major transformation tasks we are currently undergoing. I am proud that we have already reached the target of 30 per cent women in management. I would like to thank all my colleagues whose commitment has made this success possible. Now we are tackling the 40 per cent target," says Martin Seiler, DB Board Member for Human Resources.

DB Recruitment has developed its own recruitment strategy "30 measures for 30 per cent". With "40 measures for 40 per cent", it is now focusing on the new target. Effective measures such as the DB World Women's Month in March and Recruiting Days for female candidates with hiring commitments on the day of the interview will be continued. One new aspect, for example, is the use of university and school partnerships to explicitly target female students for entry into STEM and technical professions.

Barbara Lutz of the Diversity for Success (FKi) initiative explains: "The opposite of diversity is monotony. Monotony inhibits change and innovation. A lack of diversity in teams impairs the innovative power and performance of the organisation. The target of 40% women in management at Deutsche Bahn is therefore absolutely logical! We look forward to continuing to support the process of achieving this ambitious goal with our analyses.

To enable more women to take up management positions, DB has special formats such as individual career counselling, development programmes, mentoring and networking events.

As part of the strategic succession planning programme, female colleagues with leadership ambitions can also nominate themselves as successors for new positions to be filled in the future.

DB also advertises all positions with the option of part-time work. Employees can choose between more pay, holidays or fewer hours. The flexible working models also include the so-called "where-you-want-to-work" jobs, which allow mobile working throughout Germany. Finally, DB is increasingly offering job sharing for management positions.

The Group also aims to further increase its overall representation of women. More than 56,000 women currently work for DB in Germany.
